Description

Louselette the Conqueror

On someone’s head, Louselette, the female louse, lived as most of her relatives had done during their short lives. She wanted to become a conqueror, as well, and create a new town on someone else’s head.  This she had been thinking since she was a nit, for seven days to be precise. During that time, she had been brushed, showered, shaken by the wind, threatened by fingernails, all of which she had survived, but she knew that if their host attacked them with the right weapon or method, the whole town could disappear before having a chance to migrate.

The fact that her days might be numbered made her decide to leave her 299 siblings at different stages of their lives, and venture out to other heads. It was a dangerous move: if she migrated to an extra-neat host, he or she could realize quickly that an out-of-head creatures’ invasion was on. However, she wanted to get married before leaving so she could start laying nits as soon as she found a new head. In case that didn’t work, her alternative was to take the risk of meeting a good louse in her path.
