“Do you remember when humans dominated the world?”

“Yes, although I was barely a year old when I saw the last of them fall.”

“How do you know that was the last?”

“I haven’t seen another one in a while. So, it was the last one I saw.”

“I miss them: I was a happy, chubby pet. Here, in the city, it’s hard to get food for us. The gray and black things are everywhere, we only have the park, but we are so many that we will have to leave.”

“Cousin, you shouldn’t have bitten the human bunny, but the blue carrot is the real cause. Who came up with painted food? And, why did you eat it if you know carrots look yellow to us?”

“She gave it to me, and I trusted her. I saw that she broke a jar the big adult brought home. The guy had no hair and was always wearing a lab robe; Then, she grabbed the carrot as a brush and with what was left on the floor, painted a wall, and then handed it to me. I was hungry.”

“What did you feel when you ate it?”

“A lot of anger. It tasted terrible, my mouth burned, I couldn’t control myself, and I bit her. She ran away, and after a while, I heard two knocks on the floor, when I found them, they had foam in their mouths. The big female took them to the hospital, and they didn’t come back. Within a few weeks there were dead people everywhere.”
